A further demonstration of our skilled and committed fabrication, machining, and site mechanical teams here at MB Century Ltd; meeting extremely fast (4 day) turnaround for removal and replacement of two baffle plates in each of the two 1.5m diameter super-heater endcaps for OEC1 and OEC2 Ormat units at Mercury NZ's Ngatamariki power station.

Work included

  • Site mechanical crew for removal and refitting of the end caps

  • Mobile jig for checking of the flange flatness checks using MB Century’s mobile line boring machine

  • Utilisation of MB Century’s Climax mobile milling machine to bevel the edges of the baffle plates

  • 24/7 fabrication work across two teams
